Wheel Bolts

Ive just gone to tighten up my wheel bolts after Ive had my new alloys fitted a bit ago, just to find my wheel brace is too big for the bolts....

Whats going on?

A mate of mine bought new alloys, he got all new wheel bolts with them. If you didn fit the alloys yourself, then its possible that whoever did replaced your bolts with the new ones that came with the wheels.

Ahh I see now.

Are the ones that come with the alloys a certain size?

Where could I get a brace thatll fit them?

Thanks

renault bolts are 19m,a lot of alloy wheel makers use 17m bolts. places like halfords sell braces which have both the sizes.

The only problem with them is theyre not like an L shape more of a J and the less than 90 degree bend in the brace causes a sort of twisting effect on the bolt which can, if youre not careful snap bolts (only happened to me once possibly not coz of brace) and damage the edge of the bolt hole in the alloy.
