Wheel Brushes - What You Got?

Hi, me again :)

I need a decent wheel brush, so I was wondering what you all had?

I've got some Envy brushes for the face of the alloy but I want a brush for the inside. I know the EZ wheel brushes are highly recommended but I can't justify spending £20 on a brush when there's much cheaper ones about.

Been looking at the Megs brush which looks similar to the Silverline brush on I4D.
Also been looking at the Vikan brushes, are either of these any good as they seem much cheaper than the EZ brushes.

Thanks in advance :)

Both the Vikan and Megs brushes are fine. The EZ is the top dog, apart from the Wheel Woolies, but if you don't want to spend £20, I doubt you'll want to spend £30!

I have and have had most of the brushes out there. The EZ brushes last, but not quite as long as the Megs ones. The Woolies are on my Xmas list!

  Not a 320d
Big EZ, and a 1 inch round detailing brush.

EZ is a bit flimzy i think a toilet brush would do the job just as well too.

Whats a wooly?

I know the price for a EZ brush is pretty high, but you wont regret it. There are cheaper copies on the market, but thing is that they dont have a coacting around the steel string that holds the 'blue hairs'. Result will be scratches on the sharp edges of the rim.

I personally have three:

(perfect for small areas, brushing your tire's and the places where the bolts go in)

Mothers wheel brush: perfect for the "face" of the rim

And the EZ brush.

I must say that it took me 3 months to buy the brush, since i didn't want to spend 20 pounds either. But now i have it for over a year and still cleans fantastic like it did the first day :)

Just gone from a megs inside wheel brush to an EZ mini, only mini because i didnt have enough for a large one! EZ is perfect, very well built... mini is long enough to do the job on my 16"s.. Megs was alright but EZ is a big step up in quality... megs was farked after a few months...

Swissvax copy brush for the outside wheels, found on ebay for a few quid normally.

Looks like the EZ brushes are the dogs danglies. Very expensive but if they last for up to a year they may be worth the money. All but two of the reviews on Cleanyourcar are 5 stars n'all.

Think I might just bite the bullet, save up and buy an EZ brush then.

JD, the wheel woolies look good but don't look worth £35

I've got a few like this. - for the professional apparently.

I've got s**t wheels - I don't care if they get scratched to buggery and if any passing detailing expert wants to have a laugh, these clean them up great.

Haters gonna hate.

Is it just me thats on their 5th/6th EZ brush?

Yes, it is an awesome brush, but, they've GOT to strengthen the 'shaft'. I've had atleast four snap on me now and my Mini-EZ has just done the same! DOH.

EZ brush is just the same as the silverline thingy one yeah?

If so mine is bent lol. About 30 degrees off in a random direction from the handle! Good brush though.

I have been using the vikan extended brush, its very long & does a great job! But, I will be getting some wheel woolies from Polished Bliss too as they look soo soft!

I use a £1 soft dustpan brush!! Haha does the job very well. Seen some brushes priced around £15 seems a bit silly to spend that much on a brush, are they that much better??

As with most products that cost more, they are either better designed and therefore better at their intended use, or they are better built and so last longer.

In this case, the more expensive brushes will be less likely to scratch your wheels while at the same time offering very easy use.
