Wheel Fitments

I have searched for this, and have found contradicting information, so if people could clarify it would be great. Basically I have 172 phase 1 (the original, first 172).

I am wanting to fit either 172 cup alloys or 182 trophy wheels.
Now this is where i get confused, does it matter if the cars lowered as to the wheel i choose.

The car is unlowered at the moment, however will be going 40/50mm in the future.

So which wheels will fit now unlowered and after it has been lowered.

Trophy wheels are what you need, you have et43 offset & trophy are et45.
172 cup turinis are et 38.

will the 172 cup wheels not fit at all?
what kind of problem will they cause??
cash is going tobe a problem with the trophy wheels, even though i love them, as people ask £350 without tyres, but 172 cups you can get for £200-250 with.

The trophy ones will suit car better.

I sold one of my sets for £480 with as new tyres, so don't get robbed.
