Wheel getting hot

  182
I've got a leaking rear shock which I noticed at the weekend. Until today the car has been fine just gradually noticed the handling getting worse on sharp cornering so i've been taking it easy. On the way home just now the car started making loud noises like scraping (almost as if a wheel bearing has gone) but its not doing it all the time or at a particular speed. I thought this must be just the shock scraping as it has emptied its oil but now I've got home the wheel is extremely hot and there is a slight burning smell.

Could this be a bearing on the way out or sticking breaks? Its on the same side as the dodgy shock. I'm getting the shocks replaced on sat anyway but just wondering if I have another problem.

Most likly caliper sliders have stuck or you've left your handbrakes on. Get it sorted just need to take it to pieces and grease the sliders up not a huge job.

Cheers, come to think of it my handbrake did feel stiffer when I put it on when I got home, I didn't leave it on though lol. Will standard grease do it or does it have to be that copper stuff?

Standard grease is fine Copper grease if for the backing plate of brakes not for the slider.

Don't even need high temperature grease.
