wheel jack question...

I want to buy a wheel jack so i can give my wheels a bit of a better tidy.

Are there any major issues with using a jack on a sloping drive? It isn't a massive incline as shown by the picture... But i guess i would be best to use some blocks for the rear wheels etc?

any further advice for me? any recommendations for a wheel jack too? had a look at halfords online. don't want a cheap one but don't want to spend mega bucks either...

I'd jack it up on the street, the drive is quite a slope (well in the pic - but you said it's not really) no way i'd want to jack on that.
The only problem is that you'd have to clean a wheel, put it back on & so on.

Get a trolley jack for it, if your leaving the wheels off for a bit get some axle stands too.

If you do deiode to jack it up on the drive, you'll need to put blocks under the wheels yeah, and put the car in gear too (just remember to take it out of gear when you start it up)

halfords have a good deal on atm i got mine last week. 2 ton trolley jack and free stands

ive seen the guy from etyres jack-up and change tyres on a Espace. i twas on a drive with a steeper incline than yours.

Jacking on a slope can be very tricky. Ive got the yellow halfords 2 ton one. Cant fault it, Ive been using it for years, always does the job and never leaks. Have a look at machine mart they have a good selection, some have plastic grips which prevent scratching the underseal off.

got a 2 tonne one from halfords. no special deal but it cost £22 iirc and seems a bargain.

Could stick a spare tyre underneath so if it does fall of you wont get squashed.
Also put the jack at the angle of the slope..so it dont tilt. put it in gear too so it dont roll.
Or just do it on the road.



Just noticed its a mk3..dont have a spare..lol. could try sticking ya can of squirty stuff under there..hehehe

Worst thing is if it rolls off the jack. And jacking up on a slope will start twisting and bending the jack.
