wheel protection

i have some silver oz's that have very recently been refurbed. before i put tyres on and use them id like to make sure the paint stays at its best for as long as possible and allows them to be easily cleaned and still be shiney after a few weeks use.

what should i be looking at? bit of a noob when it comes to detailing but i know a few basics so if you could explain best you could what i need and what sort of pros and cons come with it then id be very gratefull

C5 will last ages, should only need shampoo to clean as well.. Others will last a couple of months at best.

Be sure to get rid of any grease before applying to ensure maximum lifespan.

im tempted with that c5 tbh. should just be able to apply it to newly refurbed wheels no?

You wouldn't need to decontaminate or anything I don't think but id give them a quick hand polish then a wipe down with IPA..

C5 will outlast most if not all wheel sealants IMO. If they are freshly refusrbished and are kept clean / inside the house etc give them an IPA wipedown and you should be fine. I have it on my front wheels but yet to do the rears for being too lazy due to all the prep on used wheels

how much will i need to do 4 wheels? and maybe some hubs and shocks (as i read in the other thread its good for that too?)

apparently if used correctly the small bottle will do 4 wheels up to 18" iirc

If you use a full bottle to do a set of any wheels you are seriously doing something wrong.

Gtechniq products go so far when used correctly.

use the make up pad, put on top of bottle, tip it upside down then back, wipe on planned area, carry out same procedure if pad becomes dry. do not leave more than a few minutes before VERY lightly wiping down with a new MF cloth. this may mean do small areas at a time and going back to it.

I've used half a 15ml bottle (7.5ml) to do inside and outside of 2x 17" wheels and I over applied the product. as said, you're doing something seriously wrong if you need a big bottle to do 4 wheels. But as said, this is all a waste of time unless they are spotlessly clean

Thanks for that. The wheels are freshly refurbed so they are spotless, wouldn't take a lot of prepping.

As I just said tho its out of stock everywhere atm.
