Wheel sizes...Opinions?

Ok guys, probably quite a regular question but Ive had different people tell me different things.

If I were to put 17" alloys on my 1.2 Mk2 clio how will it affect the acceleration, MPG etc?

Has anyone here done this?

I know its a slow little car but i dont want to loose too much of the speed it does have lol!

it will loose some speed but i doubt theres much in it.. also you handling will be ever worse unless it goes lower =]

Handling, performace and MPG will all decrease by putting it on 17"s.

Ah well I will be lowering it about 40mm hopefully, if 17"s aren't recommended what would you guys suggest? 16s?

16's are said to be the best choice . for looks and for the go of the car .
