Wheel Spacers

  Clio 1.6 16v
Alright guys :)

I have just changed my wheels on my mk2 phase 1 1.6 16v clio from some nasty ass 17 bk racings to some more subtle 15" oz f1's.

However when putting them on ive realised i need spacers well atleast i believe i do?

Could anybody please lead me into the right direction as to which spacers if so and if not wtf to do :)

Cheers all

well tbh mate i tightened them up damn hard and they still wobbled about there is spacing between the wheel axle and my alloys soo? and im not entirely sure :S wasnt a big space maybe like 0.5cm so 5mm or something? i would say so

space between your wheels and the hub???
there should be zero gap regaurdless of spacers,

is the wheel agains the brake calliper??

or the bolts/hub has lost some thread!

wtf they sure have space between them lol its not good?

Did you say the bolt thread could be the problem? i mean they go on but they shake around, they arent rubbing on the caliper either soo :S

its quite confusing, everything i did with my punto gt turbo was straight forward haha it seems like a maze on my clio!

the wheel should fit flat on the hub,
as they should on all cars,

and if you have all 4 bolts bolted on correctly then there should be no movement,
the bolts will pull the wheel on until its flat!!

im really struggling to work out how you have tightened the nuts up, but still have the wheel looses!!

i think we need pics!

possibly they have the wrong spigot rings in? but still wouldnt make sense how the bolts are tight!?

pics needed!

yeah im not completely understanding whats going on in this thread. do they wheel bolt definitely tighten up so you cant spin them anymore?

must be the wrong fitment but doesnt explain how there is a gap between the wheel and the hub if the bolts are tight

Have you got the correct length bolts? Am I right in thinking that if the bolts are too long the end of the bolt will reach the end of the4 bolt hole before they have clamped down on the wheel? can't remember the correct length but I'm sure with a search you could find the answer.

Hi guys :)

sorted my issue haha, it was down to spacers strangely... the wheel would not go far enough onto the hub for it to not leave a gap. So i used my initiative and went down the scrapyard and bought 4 95mm spacers which sorted my issue out a treat :) good times.

Just means i dont have to run any nasty 17inch bk racing alloys now! good times

Cheers for the input anyway guys! (Y)

i really think you should be concerned as to what was stopping the wheel going far enough onto the hub to make it leave a gap!!

i know i would!

Yeah dont worry i am, its booked in at selecta tyre in my town to be looked at as i really dont fancy a wheel blowing out or coming off when im driving down somewhere like a motorway :) wouldnt be good.
