Wheel & Tyre question

  mg zs / alfa 147

OK on an X reg clio (bubble shape 98-2001 model), would i get 16s on with 205.45.16 tires on with no problems i.e. scrubbing etc.

The wheels are from my rover 200 (current car looking to swap to a clio) and the offset and PCD is the same.

I Just figure its a shame to send some nice wheels away with my car when i trade it in.

Cheers

Russ

if you already have them and the pcd and offset is the same then try it, may need some spigot rings if the hub centre is a different size tho

can you explain this please loony, ive heard this before but didnt have a clue about it.......

you may have several cars with the same pcd and offset but the hole in the centre of the wheel may differ slightly on each car so rather than make different wheels for each application that has the same offset and pcd they make a one size fits all and the cars with a smaller hub centre have a spigot ring (type of spacer) to fill the gap, hope that makes sense

the one that the centre cap sits in between the holes for the wheel bolts, they are different sizes, havnt got any pics, sorry

derrrr, how stupid am i, how didnt i understand that part, lol

ive jus done a search online and i understand what you mean now, cheers mate

no probs, some spigot rings are metal with a sprung ring to hold them in place and some a nylon and interferance fit (read as fcuking tight fit) my 17s on my 172 had a nylon spigot ring in them and had to tw*t them in with a rubber mallet it was that tight a fit

Cool

These are rover factory alloys off a 200 BRM

I really like the wheels and they will suit the clio as there are no rover markings on them.

Will i have trouble finding spigot rings to fit them do you think?
