Meaning? ET something to do with offset I know, so can I buy a set of 17s that have been fitted to a 172 and fit them without problems?

Well our ET is 38, the 172 is 48.5 so it will bring the wheels out further on your car, which is obviously a good thing.

Make sure you check the ET of those said wheels though incase theyre not the factory ET, its good to have wide wheels but you dont want your car to look like one of them wide arch Suzuki Vitaras!

Rob: The greater ET of the 172 would actually mean that the wheels would actually stick further into the arch not out of the arch, just called for a price on some tyres and they told me that,

Im confused about the whole et thing now..as the ET of the 172 is bigger and they stick out more to increase track yet the bigger the ET the more inside the arch it is?? Think i need a lie down..

Even though theyre pretty common gotta love the SuperLs, and at least we know they fit the 1.2s no problem as fred has em.

Yeha you can get different offsets but the wheels I was looking at are second hand and 172 offset, Apparently the higher the offset the more it sticks into the wheel arch the lower the offset the more it sticks out of the arch

My 17s were originally on a 172, so YEAH they fit!!!!!!

My original 15" OZ was ET 43. My new 16" 172 Cup wheels are ET 38.5

The track is now 9mm wider. You have got to understand that.
