wheels fitting 172

hey done a bit of checking see standard 172 wheels are 4x100pcd 60.1mm bore and 16x7 et38
will 16x8 et20's fit if not how much work is needed?

offset calculator says il have 5mm more clearance inner and 31mm extra width outer so just over an inch

Good question actually..

I have a Renault Clio MK2 PH2 1.2 8V... Ive fitted MK2 PH2 172 Sport Alloys and it rubbs on the rear damper etc.. Nothing major but always wondered why as expected it not to. Guess ill have to buy some 10mm spacers for the rear sooner or later!

If your current wheels are et38 (I'm sure only the 172 cups are that low!) then yesoffset calculator is right. Your wheels outer edge will be 31mm closer to the arch. Go out to your car and measure how much clearance you have already.. If its less than 31mm then you're stuffed

Hi PT dave. There are a couple of Clio's with your choice of wheel already on here. One thread has details of what they had to do to make them fit. Do a search and I'm sure you will find it. they look epic.
