When is a 172 cup due a cambelt change?

Viewing one tomorrow on 45k with FSH, but the cambelt hasnt been done. Which service is it generally due?

With it being a Cup he might be lucky and it won't have CC so there's no Aux belt.

So whats running the power steering pump and alternator

Powersteering runs on the fan belt doesn't it? and there's an alternator belt I'm sure.

Yeah its not got climate. So the mileage isnt relevant, its 5 years from manufacture?

Yeah the rubber perishes after 5 years according to the manufacturer.

Eh?!

The belt on the left hand side of the engine is the Aux belt. It runs the alternator and powersteering (also the aircon in non Cup models). It needs to be changed the exact same time the Cambelt does as the Aux belt needs to be removed in the process. Trust me.

The only benefit here is the Cup doesn't have Air Con, meaning the Aux belt is £13 instead of £120 and there's a smaller labour charge as it takes less time to fit.

Auxbelt: Every 3 years or 34K, WHICHEVER IS SOONEST

Smaller belt and less tensioners to worry about i think, plus its the shear fact it takes less time to do so cuts down on labour(again 'i think')

Lol, look at the radiator on you car, seen the fan on it? Has a very funny shapped belt on it, shapped bit like a peice of wire with an electric motor on actually.

all models of 172 no matter what mileage should have had cambelt done by now and if not they need doing asap
