when paint jobs go bad!

When I had a knock (into a land rovers towbar) i had a pretty bad dent in the bonnet. Contacted all the dent specialists (or is it dint) in the Yellow pages and they said they couldnt do it because the bonnet is double skinned at that point. So I went to renault. They quated about £260. Went to this place behind my house at uni and it cost £100. Looked perfect for ages, then I hit a deer in scotland and the entire front end had to be replaced. So I didnt get to see how long it would last over a longer periode of time. But it looked perfect until the crash.

looks like the guy either didnt use plastic primer for the bump strips or didnt key/clean the plastic properly.

The paint runs are a very amaturish thing to see, the guy was clearly a novice/imbicil..there should never be too much paint on one coat to cause runs.

hmm, does look like no primer was used, doesnt it.. looks like its paint straight onto plastic (Disclaimer: Im no bodyshop person by the way or expert in painting, so could be wrong)

i noticed that on ur motor last night, shame when places f**k u around. car still looked smart mate, nice colour 2;). well impressed with ur alarm thats a nice touch.

nev i thought you looked impressed with the remote engine start! Breathed a sigh of relieve when it worked, can occasionally be a bit tempremental.

f**kin hell I have done better jobs with a rattle can. would of only cost £30 in paint too hehe.

I painted the sills on mine the other day and cant tell they have been done!

Yeah the bump strips mean he didnt rub em down right and use platic primer by the looks of it, wouldn;t peel off if hed used that.

Paintings easy for bits and bobs, just take ur time and make sure you prepare it well.
