When should I change the Fuel Filter for my 172 MK2??

From my memory, 172 MK2's fuel filter is a unit with the fuel pump (MK1's filter is located underneath the car). Am I right? How much does it cost and when do I need to change it???

not til 72000miles IIRC, i think you need to put in a complete new sender, but i maybe wrong

You don't need to change the senor from what I remeber.
Some early Mk2's had external fuel filters though just to be difficlt.

I personally think it is really really late to change the fuel filter at 150k.

I replaced mine 2 days ago and at my service last year. For the cost of the filter which is about £7 you may aswell change it. It might be a bit too often according to Renault but hey ho. I wasnt gonna leave my Cam belt to 72000 miles either.

Is yours under the rear passenger seat? You have MK2 right?
I am sure MK1's filter is cheaper and locate underneath the car.

Matts is mechnaic so has ownered a few.

the Mk1's yep is a seperate under the car unit just like some early Mk2's are.

if its external then we recommend every 36k...along with the plugs!!(they dont last til 72k either)

mk1 its external, mk2 you have remove the sender from under the rear seat to get to it
