Where are the crossovers for stock componants

  Hondata'd EP3 Type R
Hi, I'm trying to amy my door speakers, And I read that if i take the dash top off, I would be able to find the stock crossovers which i could use to trace the wiring.

I've taken the dash top off, But cannot see the crossovers?

Any one shed any light?

Thanks

no x-overs as such

just a small non-polarised capacitor mounted on the back of the tweeter

Hi BMH.01

Thanks for your post but i am a little confused here.

When u say "up into the dash where it connects to the crossover" Do you mean the after market crossover or the stock crossover? Cause i cant see one?

I'd like to say that I have the left hand side all wired up, I drilled the door looms and ran my wiring and did the same for the tweeter, The left side is sweet, ITs just the right hand side. Because the electric wing mirror adjustment is on the drivers side, theres no room in the loom to drill.

Confused as to how I'm going to do the drivers side done, I've always just drilled the loom or took the door off and drilled the door lol.

Did you mean an ISO from the head unit?

Yes I'm amping them. I've done alot of installs, Never had this problem, Normally just drill the looms

personally i would never use the stock wiring, just dont like it, but thats me. also the hassle of using the oem connectors down at the door speakers.

Nope the aftermarket crossover, mine are amped.

I used one of those and cut the power side off. The feed from the mid range of the crossover is connected to this and uses the original wiring to go to the mid in the door, new wire goes around the dash to the tweeters in the original position.

Still dont understand the ISO connector Where do i plug that?
The female iso plugs into the male iso on the loom of the car, you then connect the wires from the iso to the mid side of your a/m crossover. You disconnect the tweeter and run new wire across the dash to that.

ah i see, Wish I'd seen/understood your post before i started! Like i said, I've got my tweeters and my left mid wired up and amped, just the right drivers one causing me hassle lol!

your better upgrading the wiring to the speakers mate. esp if your running 125 wrms through it. it'll sound alot better

Like i say, I ALWAYS upgrade the wiring, Normally drill out the blocks and run wire through, Its just this car needs to be reverted back to stock for resale, Would normally take the door off and drill my own loom :D

Got most of it done, just this one!

Going to do 3 layers of Sound deadening to the door, Finish my Big Three and wire up my Yellow Top and have another crack at the speaker tomorrow after work :)

thing is, is that before the x-over? if so it's probably a 70/30 split plus losses in the x-over so the mid bass is probably getting 70 of the 125

I = P/V average amplifier output voltage rails are 35v so thats only really 2 Amps of current
