That goes on your starter motor to protect it from the heat of the exhaust

mmmmm kinda glad i asked so

also could you tell me is it all right to leave the heat sheild(the one that looks like tin foil) off??
it clips onto the brown stuff at the back of the engine
mine has seen better days

My tin-foil needs either re-sticking or removing as well?? Safe to remove or not??
