Where is Gearbox Fill and Drain Plugs ? And how much Oil?

Sorry if this has been posted before.

Does anyone know where the Gearbox Oil Fill and Drain Plugs are on a 2002 172FF ?

And what kind of socket i'll need for removing the plugs (i.e square, hexagonal etc) ?

As i fancy having a go at changing it ?

Does anyone have an idea how much my car will hold ?

And if Millers Fully Synthetic 75/90 would do the trick ?

There a guide to chnaging them both on the forum

Engine oil is the one on the sump cannot miss it.

gearbox one near the gearbox leaver goes into

8mm square socket it takes halfords etc sell them for a few quid make sure you replace both with the right seals (copper for the gearbox and copper and rubber one for the engine (you can use the ciopper and rubber for both but there £1.10 each vs 10p for the copper ones just never reuse them.

5.1 liters of oil or so if your chnagign the filter and get it all out.

gearbox holds about 3.5 liters.

75/90 is fine to use just remember when cold its a little stiffer.

Ok cheers mate ;)

It might be hard to put the gearbox oil in...due to cr*p positioning.
I got a bit of clean hose and a funnel so it can be poured in easly.

Search 8mm plug near the gear selector (can't miss) for drain.
to fill - remove the air filter and look down. Under the clutch cable you will find "butterfly plug". Remove it for refill the oil.
Just did it yesterday - very easy.
