Where to buy a low temp thermostat for valver?

  Valver
Posted in the wanted section but anyone know where I can get one new? Can't seem to find any online and im not getting anally abused by BBPT £16.45+p&p holly s**t is it made of gold

No point in having one!

The most useless 'mod' ever imo......

It only causes the engine to take longer to fully warm up, and in no way whatsoever helps cool it any better than a normal 'stat when it fully opens.

I do see your point actually I didnt think about it like that before...

But surely for those valvers that are overheating too much (ie most of them) it helps by opening sooner so not allowing the engine to get silly hot? Or no? :S

Once the engine warms up properly the 'stat will be fully open. Doesn't matter if it's a low temp one or an OE one, if you booting it or sitting in traffic both will behave exactly the same.

It's a bit more costly option but one of the best things you can do to a valver engine is fit an oil cooler, either a williams OE one or a MOCAL aftermarket one. Helps keeps the oil a lot cooler obviously, but also the coolent runs cooler too....

If your valver is overheating then you're cooling system needs looking at tbh, don't use a
"quick fix" low temp thermo, your cooling system will still be s**t just that it's shitter earlier :)

Give it a good flush out, make sure the rad is ok etc.

These cars when built were tested in extreme conditions, I don't think there's really any need for a low temp switch.
