Where to put cold air feed?

Im going to be buying my BMC CDA next week and just want to know the best palce to put the cold air feed i dont want it in the bumper or that low i was thinking about running from the filter across to the drivers side and down into the front grill and sitting it behind it would this be ok.

As a general rule, the longer/more bendy the feed, the more restricted the power.

Can you not get it behind the passenger side front grill? To the right of the Renault Badge? That way, its directly behind a nice bit of clean air and will have nice short feed.

You could either put it in the passenger side fog light hole (relatively easy to do just unbolting the fog light from behind and ungoing to arch liner to get to it) or the passenger side lower grill. To get there without bending the pipe I found you had to cut out a little bit of the side of the undertray on my 182...assume the 172 is similar.

172 Cup engine bay is a lot less cramped than a 182 too. So should be a lot easier.
 
take the battery out relocate it to the boot and make a nice straight feedOtherwise you mayaswell keep the original airbox

i dont want the feed lower than the front grill really i might try it next to the renault badge to the right of it.
