Which 17cm / 6.5" speakers?

Ey up,

I'm after some 17cm speakers for my 172. Budget is £70 - after a decent set of components to handle the 50w x 4 my Pioneer HU is chucking out.

Also, how thick is the MDF I should get for the spacers/rings?

your unit is chucking out 50w per channel max-rms will be around the 16-18 marker which the majority of comps are well above that figure

There is such a wide range to choose from though.

Pioneer, JBL, Vibe are ones I have seen.

Any that I should take note of?

depends entirely what your after,check the frequency ranges to tailer to yourself, lower frequency will be bassier,higher will be more treble (in general)

Well it's bass i'm after really, have a sub in the Saxo but don't want it in the Clio as it weighs a ton!

I'm uprating the tweeters too so hopefully they will deal well with the highs!
