Which car to choose?

Hi

New to the forum and wondering which car would be best to choose. They are both around the same price and condition but I like one alot more than the other but it has high milage. Here they are:

Clio 182 2004

  • 80k miles (2 owners from new and 1st owner did motorway miles)
  • Blue
  • leather
  • built in satnav and all optional extras
  • Speedline Turinis
  • Full renault service history
Clio 172 2002

  • 40k miles
  • Good service history
  • Silver
  • Leather seats

Which would you choose with selling it on after having it a while? Any opinions will help.

Cheers

Get the one you like and suits your needs best!

It's a bit like me asking you what I should have for lunch...

Both will depreciate at the same rate, but as you have seen for yourself, one is more desirable - to you - than the other.

Buy it, keep it tidy and you shouldn't struggle to sell it.

Ok, its just because of the high miles on it, I though it would be alot harder to sell because 80k is very high. Also, I would have thought I will have more problems with it?

If you plan to modify the car and put Turini's and a Cup spoiler on anyway I would suggest you get the 182.

I wouldn't rush in either as there are plenty of 182's out there struggling to sell so you are in a really good position. Look long and hard enough and you will find a 182 with the lower miles and items you want.

Many members on here have "higher mileage" 1*2's and all report that they run better. A good example is Markcup - he hammers his all day long on tracks and seems to be as good as ever - just so long as they are maintained well.

Depends on how it's been looked after tbh. my 172 is now on 103k and runs very well.

I'd test drive both and to see which you prefer.

Also check if the aux and timing belts are due on any of the 2 and budget approx £500 if they are.
