Totally optional, but I know someone is going to ask me to create a list of the groups people have chosen, so lets do this!

I’ve booked in Group B, purely because @Mr Trailer Man and @lee M4RSH did. FWENDS!

Looking forward to it, I loved last year. I’ll bring a spare coil pack too so I’m not spending Friday night walking around pissed begging to borrow one…. In fairness, a couple of legends sorted me out.

Sessions may be a good thing, last year I could have borrowed a coil pack from somebody in the season before me 😂

I did think this when @Flob mentioned it not being great.

Just think how many cars will be panic repaired in the 40 minute off periods 😅

I think it’ll actually work well, it’ll give people a bit of time to socialise in between track outings and also keep it open all day for people.

I have booked, I am happy.

However 180 on your point. Think how many people will feel pressured into staying out for the full session instead of doing 10mins stints which keeps cars happy. 20 mins is a quite a long time to stay out ime for you and the car, then if someone mullers it 2mins in on cold tyres thats the whole session fucked for 29 other people. It will feel busier because people will feel obligated to be out too.

I guess its all a numbers thing, regular TD at Cadwell is £189 for the day with an open pit, assumption being they end up with a lot more people on track?

It will be a good experience and I am looking forward to it and understand the work that goes into such an event behind the scenes so will leave it there.

10 mins? Sup with you 😂

15 minutes minimum on track, 20 is about right.

But yeah, if anything happens like you say it's session over. Luckily the CSF days have had very few stoppages.

I've finally booked a CSF event. Even though Anglesey is/was a lot closer for me, it always clashed with other events I was doing.
Will be camping all weekend and ive booked on Group C in my Mini.
Havnt done Cadwell before so it should be good to try, ready for my trip to the real Nurburgring the very end of july.

What is the minimum age for passengers?

True, depends on the car. Mini was melting after 10 mins, VX seems happy forever other than tyres.

We ended up doing really long sessions at Combe and it was such good fun! I'm sure this will be the same.

Is that £189 a regular track day on a Saturday in July?

I know people are upset about sessions but we can’t control how much Cadwell want to charge for an exclusive track day on a Saturday in July. Yes open pit would have been better for us but I don’t think anyone would have been too happy paying over £350 for a full day. And not only that we would also be under pressure to sell a sh*t loads of slots at that price.

so unless someone has a spare £5k sitting around to donate to subsidise the event then there’s not much we can do about it.

I’ve got to be completely honest, the amount of work we’ve all put in to make this happen and then to have people moaning about the format that we have no control over is a bit of a kick in the teeth.

But worry not, I’ll get over it.

Yeah Clio/Megane go forever really.

I had a mate do an hour in his Megane on a winter day at Oulton years ago 😂

He was trying to get heat into slicks.

Not having a go, just wanted to comment on the good points you made

This is the comparison most people do though, that price is on a week day.

It's a long running point we make when planning these events that if we'd named it 'ClioSport Wednesday', we could have gone to any circuit in the country for the price of a box of Freddos. But we might struggle getting everyone to synchronise their work holiday allowances. Factor in the 'value' of a days holiday and that might also change some peoples view of the price too.

There are ZERO Saturday or Sunday trackdays at any of the 5 MSV circuits in the UK this year outside of the winter months , so it's impossible to compare prices, and we're bloody lucky to get one. CSF in November and December wasn't going to happen.

Yeah one track day manager told me most TDO's use the rule of thumb of track limit x 2.5 for open pit, which would mean 75 cars booked onto an open pit session instead of 30 in your group. We've never gone anywhere near that ratio with our previous events but we would have probably gone with 55 and even then the maths wouldn't work.

I'm not upset - I voiced my concern, then said how excited I was and how much work must go into organising this, then said I had booked then said how good I think it will be.

I'm glad you'll get over it mate because there was never any intent to give you anything to get over, but I do understand what you're saying and I'm sorry if it has come across like that.

Spin it around a moment, its still a lot of money to spend, it was radio silence about the location and the track plans up until today (for good reason I'm sure), I booked instantly because I fully trust you looked at all the options and that it will be a fantastic weekend, in fact you could have booked Bognor Regis aquarium with no track time and I still would have booked tickets immediately... I might have still voiced a few concerns though 😂

There was a single Sat this year which got booked almost immediately! And you're right it wasn't £189.

I'm trying to think of how to word what I want without coming across a right prick and given I am generally a bit of a prick I can't. So as before I'll leave it at thank you for the efforts you have all gone to, I am looking forward to seeing you all and fully believe it will be a brilliant weekend (y)

I wasn’t having a dig at you btw. When I saw the group bit my first thought was that’s a great shout as it gives people a full day to be out and also some tinkering time in-between slots.

That said, I’ve only ever done one track day at CSF so my experience is well and truly limited so when you mentioned it I took a different take.

As you said though, it’ll be a cracking laugh regardless and I’m sure there will be loads of people getting some good track time in. Inbetween tightening wheel nuts, replacing fuelling bits and bobs, spark plugs, finding oil filler caps and all the other things we’ve seen people spend an hour doing on the day before 🤣

Sorry if my post came across as abrupt, we have put a lot of work into this and I just wanted everyone to be as excited as I am.

Absolutely don’t think you’re a prick. @Dicky Belly yes but you 100% not.

I know it’s an old joke by now but I genuinely did want to make it out this year being the 25th year and all. Even without a car to drive at present I was going to go for the crack.

But my wife is running a Squirrels event on the saturday which I have to go to and I’ve got work on the Sunday so it’s not happening 😕
