Which hand polish/wax applicator?

Are polishing sponges alright for this, or microfibre circular pads?

Also, where is best to get them ideally as cheap as possible as I want to buy a few. I use SRP and Collonite 476s.

For SRP, these are the best i've used. They're brilliant. (Autosmart)

Do you use them damp Dan?

Have you tried their proper wax? Caramel colour?

Yes mate, mildly moist!

Not used any of their products, as the autosmart rep is utterly useless around here.

If they are full size waxes rather than sample pots then auto finesse wax mates are great. Spreads nice and thinly and comfortable to use too.

The wax is really really good Dan. I used it years ago but had been playing around with it again and remembered how nice it was.

Why do you recommend mf rather than foam for polishing, Joe? Just out of curiosity, but I would've thought foam could be a bit abrasive for waxing too?
@Auto Finesse

Joe will correct me if I'm wrong, but I've found for pure polishing, the different grades of sponge (much like pads for DA) work best. For an all in one product like Tripple, MF is better. And re waxing, feel the difference between a polish hand pad foam and the Megs or other brand foam applicators. Big difference.

Using products like tripple and rejuvenate with a MF pad seems to help them draw out a lot more dirt, and not just the fact it's easier to see it. If you're wanting to use these types of product with a foam pad it's better to use one of the tri foam or 'german' coloured pads rather than the yellow round ones.

For waxing i'll stick with the yellow Meguiars applicators over the cheap, or even cheaper Hong Kong variznts, or something like an AF waxmate.

If using a proper polish, then again either the tri foam applicator or a specific pad such as JD linked

The German applicators are great. And goes along with my point about different foams (density etc).

Yup. Closed cell also. Doesn't absorb like the cheaper wax ones.
