I'm not to concerned about the noise to much, has anyone had good performance increase from an induction kit or panel filter?

On a ph1 just get a new filter, K and N or ITG. The induction on the ph1's is spot on as standard

piperx arent as high quality gauze as the k&n or ITG, however not much between any of them to be honest, personal preference really

No.

Induction kits don't produce more power. They just produce more noise. If that's what you want, go ahead, buy one.

^ my arse. unless you wanna spend £300 on a maxogen, or move the battery to the boot you arent gonna see any gains.

i'm gonna move the battery and run an open induction kit but thats purely for a bit of weight saving and to get the full noise lol

surely an open induction is only going to suck in hot air from under the bonnet? what about a viper or a bmc, you won't get the same noise. but you will get a cold air feed!

when you move the battery and fit a heatshield across the engine bay your not going to suffer massive problems with heat soak, and your going to have loads more cold air as you've got rid of the battery to free up some space so my cold air feeds will work better

I ve just bought an itg panel filter for my 03 172 - been looking at the maxogen but 300 seems steep for a bit of plastic.

Considering manifold match instead - with remap for 400.

hi there, im also looking to get one for a 1.2 dynamique 53plate clio but is the maxogen better than a pipercross viper?

also how would you go about moving the battery to the back?

whats a remap?

thanks

In reply to the last post from gordan induction kits produce more bhp its a fact!!!!:rasp: :rasp: :rasp:

So show me the dyno figures.

And I'll show you the back to back test with and without induction kit figures done on the same dyno on the same car that show they don't. The power might be up at higher revs, but it'll be down at lower revs. Or vice versa. That's just tuning for those particular revs. You won't get a significant power increase right across the rev range from an induction kit. Just a significant noise increase right across the revs range. And if that's what you want, that's great. But don't confuse it sounding like its going harder with it actually going harder.

carbon/plastic all the same!!!

The panel filter is easy to fit - I think - slide original out then place itg one in! I post reply when it arrives.

Remap - is chip ajustment.

1.2 16 v dynamique - get some toyo tyres and remove spare wheel/back seats and parcel shelf. Loved my 1.2 and always could keep up with bigger motors like 1.8 vectras/passats on twisty road like a68.

ive got a hill power semi enclosed induction lit for sale, sounds good and i dont think it lost any power

wats better tho out of the viper pipercross or the maxogen for a 1.2 clio?

maxogen dont do a kit for the 1.2, viper did make a big diff on my 1.2, although not worth 200 quid, if you can get one second hand fair enough
