Which Megane engine

Ive been talking with a bloke from a breakers yard about buying a Megane bottom end/ head but all of his Meganes have had the number plates took off and the engines are still in the car. :S
Is there any way of telling him exactly what the 2.0 16v engine looks like as he cant see the F7R code at the back of the block because things are a bit tight.

I know theres a few people that have done this conversion so could really do with some help.

1st of all its an F7R 710 - tell him to check the chassis number - it should start VF1DAOH...
