which "performance exhaust"?

Paddy_g46

I need a new cat back exhaust and ideally wanted standard but its very expensive, so are there any after-market exhaust that are worth buying but are NOT loud. I really don't want anything that is going to piss me off on the motorway, my old car used to drive me mad!

Any recommendations and prices?

Thanks

Try have one made up by a company like Powerflow, Longlife or MIJ
They can make it as loud as you want and tend to come with lifetime guarantees which is handy as you'll be going back there a few times until you are happy with the fit.

Not that the Yozzasport or Milltek would be a perfect first time fit either ;)

Still a better fit than the RS192 rubiks cube mind

No one really uses the Miltek system on a 172 though, for a standard look and sound, get a Yozza Stealth.

ktec stealth is looking like a good option after watching numerous vids on youtube. Shame they are so pricey!

You clearly have no clue. The yozza systems fit perfectly. Christ, I'm a numpty and I can fit one.

OP, if you want a light, high quality, quiet system, has to be a yozza or BTB stealth. There is no other option.

Lol. Utter, utter garbage. Heavy, boomy, poorly fitting. I wouldn't recommend one to my worst enemy.
Edit:But if you think they are expensive, you're mad.

BTB? I have watched youtube vids with yozzas and they seem very loud? No?

When I say expensive I am comparing that with the parts I can get from ECP for £150. £200 is alot more money! Albeit they are probably very cheap badly fitting parts!

BTB stealth and yoz stealth are quieter than a ktec stealth. I've owned the ktec and yozza, and the yozza is far quieter.

The dyno testing PFC did on 172 exhausts would say other wise performance wise, it beat everything else. Granted it is loud and the fits shite.

You may get the sound you want but the monkeys just bend the pipes to the rough shape of the original, and cut and chop flanges. Gash as fcuk. No thanks.

Ktec stealth fitted great on mine no problems st all. And it's only boomy if you hold it at very low revs or go anywhere in the region of 70mph+. If you do lots of motorway miles steer clear it would do my head in but for town and b road blasts I love it, especially with decay and no mid-section

i think it depends on who fits it...... you cant even see mine on my ph1 it fits spot on my mate did it and yes he said he had to fiddle with it but come on all the clio enthusiasts on here should be able to sort it out!

and how much heavier is it than the yozza really? 1kg?

boomy? mine sounds bang on just need to get upto running temp along with the car and it sounds class imo

My ktec stealth needs adjusting to fit properly and it does knock a bit on these crap roads. But it sounds good especially when it gets warm. Just waiting to get the decat fitted he he

I have no complaints with my ktec stealth. Back box sits a little low, but its not too bad considering I've not tried to lift it at all, its just as it was when fitted. No bangs or rattling from it, and its not too loud, until you take the cat out. Tis a fair bit noiser then, but still not over powering. All IMO of course

Having said all that, I would like to try something else, just so I can compare. Would like something a bit more "raspy" rather than loud/boomy. If anyone has ever heard a pugsport on a 106, then thats the sorta noise I'd like

why don't you check out ExhaustsUK in Sheffield. They're very good there, custom built as well. Cobra exhausts are there brand.
Also MIJ in Birmingham are supposed to be very good.

I would go to MIJ if they woul be able to make me a system that is just as quiet as standard for a competitive price. Might give them a ring tomorrow.

Ktec stealth's are loud and boomy, I've had two (and removed them both). They drone right @ 60-70 mph, great that considering thats where you spend most of your time cruising! If you want a decent system, Yozza or BTB Stealth. Nothing else
