which pin is rev counter on the psh1 clocks?

  C63 AMG, F430 & 172
I need to hook my omex loom upto the rev counter but I dont know which pin on the clocks runs the rev counter.

Anyone got a diagram?

not 100% clear on autodata to be honest but it "looks" to be pin 7, white blue (or white) this comes from the ecu and goes to the clocks, it also goes to a gearbox ecu for automatics, so it seems to make sence!

If it was me i would pin it out from the input on the actual clocks from the plug to the actual rev counter itself.

This of any help at all??

Sorry I dont under stand the last sentence,

I have the 12v pulse wire from the omex, should I scotch it on each cable of the back of the clocks and see which runs the tacho? Or will that melt the omex? lol

Im pretty sure the wire colour changes after the bulkhead connection :(

Lol I just got what you asked for the diagram doesnt make a great deal of sense to me either! Just ditch the tach, extra weight and all

if it was me i would work with pin 7 being the taco input to the clocks, my diagram is different to that of mattjk tho, what year did you select?

ben yes the wire does change colour at the bulk head, the wire colour at the clocks is white/blue or in a few cases it can be white. see what colour it is on pin 7.

TYhat diagram you have of the back of the clocks seems to be the led lighting for them.

Do you have a multimeter that has a continuity(spelling?) tester on it? if so put one end on the pin 7 and then try the solder joints arounf the tacho, see which one beeps thru.

how does the pin numbers work? I have two block connections on the clocks, one on the revs side and one on the speedo side?

Which block and pin order

Cheers!!! ben

never done one this way before so i dont know what the back of the clocks looks like....

Are you sure the clocks arnt on canbus to the ecu?

ph1 isn't canbus afaik

also, autodata (my version at least) is wrong for the ph1 172, it lists ph2 info (such as fbw etc..)

here's the Renault info on the ph1 172 clocks
