Which tyres for 200 Cup

  MX5 Elise111s
A friend of mine (not a Cliosport member) has damaged one of his Conti tyres (215/45 17) on his (partner's). Before he goes out and buys a new pair or full set he was wondering what is the preferred tyre for the 200Cup and can he run 225/45 17s?

It is an everyday driver but he hopes to do the odd track day in it. Is it worth getting a set of 16" rims for the track and which tyres.

Also does anyone run spacers on the 200 Cup to improve the stance of the car?

I'm not sure he'll get 16's on will he? I doubt they would fit over the front brakes.

Answers to the other questions, yes 225's will fit, and plenty of people run spacers on there 197's/200's

Might get motorsport specific alloys over the brakes such as Speedlines or Compomotives.

Tyre wise, the performance will be few and far between on the oe Continentals vs Pirelli vs Michelin. I would say just stick with the Conti for the time being.
