Whine - aux or power steering?

Is there an easy way to tell which it would be?

I presume it's power steering, as it's only whining when low speeds around tight corners (though probably normal right?)

I took it up to Fred's for a service a couple of months back, was going to get the Aux done (as its been 3 years now) but he said not to bother until it whines (and that they are meant to be 5 year changes - but we've all seen that thread) - so wondering if it's this or not?

From my experience power steering has been more a squeaking noise. Can you get an audio of it up?

My power steering makes a noise and I'd describe it exactly how you have.

Aux would be more likely to come when you first start the car I thought, not sure how a tight turn would make it make a noise..

What's the cost of replacing the PAS pump?

A bit over £300 for a new pump amd aux kit

Adds quite a bit onto the Aux then, I'll see if I can get a video

Pump units alone are around £170-195 so yeah, its not the cheapest of jobs when you add labour and an aux kit to the list.
