whinning

when i turn off my 172 there is a noise which sounds like a supercharger winding down is this normal? any ideas?

It'll be the idler pulley on the aux belt. The aux belt should be changed every 36k with an aux belt kit which comes with two new rollers 1 is at the bottom between crank & aircon pump the other on the tensioner a lot of people only change the belt so save money.
