who will be buying the iphone?

as everyone knows the iphone is out on friday....

just so i can get an idea of the ammount of people queing outside the 02 shop or carphone warehouse cos i carnt be arsed waiting outside for an hour or more just to get my turn and they have all gone

I watched the Gadget show the other day and they said the phone isnt all its cracked up to be, the camera is really poor as well.

I was after one but ive just ordered the 6500 Classic on O2 instead after watching that review.

Do I:

Buy an iphone for £270.00
Start a new contract (they've said I can do this) for £35 a month for 18 months

Sell iphone for £1,000 circa, and earn an easy £400?

Any thoughts?

I dont like the contract deals and cant be arsed with the hassle of unlocking it and it costs a bomb

Well, you say they won't sell for £1,000 but think about it (and the massive hype and the fact they're tied to only O2) and the fact they're bound to be unlocked a la normal O2 procedure....

£270 for the handset
£35 x 18 months is £630

So that's £900 instantly to buy one.

For me, I already pay £20 a month so that's £360 over 18 months. So £270 difference plus £270 handset = £540 cost extra to me.

Limited availability and the fact that people are going to have to move to O2 in addition to keeping whatever current contract they have for at least £900 makes me think they'll fetch over £1000.
