Why i love driving my works Transit van all week...

  Audi TT 3.2 V6
Hi guys,

Ive come to realise that my works van is actually good for something....making me realise how fast and refined the 182 actually is LOL.

I generally cover 700miles a week in my works van so the Clio gets very little, if any use in the week now. Picked the car up from Renault after having the headlight washers repaired and omg it just felt so nice to drive.

The acceleration almost feels brutal. Prior to having a works van i was getting a little used to the power in the Clio and was looking for more but now it feels incredible to drive.

If your getting a little bored of your cars, i suggest if possible you go drive round in something slow and lethargic all week. You'll come back to your RS and it will feel sublime to drive. The handling, the acceleration, even the levels of comfort and ride quality feel excellent to me now.

I get the same after driving round in a sh*tty W reg Escort van which is unbelievably slow and then getting in the Meg.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I've had my Clio for 3 years now, and have at times, been really bored with it. Then when I've driven something else, like the gf's old Rover 100 (Metro) or the family Mitsubishi Carisma around europe for two weeks and I've then got back in the 172 it feels immense! feels rapid, tight and pin sharp.

It's not, but hey.

If only 5th gear had been a higher ratio or they'd stuck a 6th gear in the car it would be a better tourer too.

I pretty much only drive my 182, sometimes drive a minibus lol, it's abit of a shock after driving that beast, usually stall it cos the clutch is so sharp/ heavy in the clio.

Haha yeah I'm the same, I drive a transit connect for work (British Gas van) and as my car's been off the road for a few weeks it was starting to feel quick, until I got back in the car...as soon as you reach 4k the world goes blurry :)

Then again, the clio does make the van look uber relaible! But what's reliability when you're restricted to 70mph :(

Bet that was expensive!

Nope...FREE!

I replaced the washers myself in Feb, sure enough theyve started leaking again so took it to Renault and they replaced them for free under the parts warranty.

There is defo some advantage to buying genuine parts at times.

Also if you drive under say 3k for a week then gun it for the first few times your car will feel realy fast. Even works in my 1.2 lol
