Why, Why, Why Renault!!!!!!

minor rant...

Coilovers arrived today... nice weather... nothing better to do... "I'll slap them on", i thought! "Wont take long only did the front springs last year so nothing seized on and the backs cant be too hard, only two bolts".

Turns out when they made my valver in the factory they decided they were gonna use a stoopidly large bolt (hoooge it was!) to hold the rear shockers on that goes all the way through about 4" of the chassis and through to a nut on the other side. "No probs", im thinking "just get a spanner in and whip it out"

At this point i notice the fuel tank in the way, along with the rear axle and the fuel lines, which by the way all have a joint in them right and the P,clip used to join them is right in the way of the nut. The sharp bits on them P clips can cut right through skin, i can tell you.

Took me 2 hours to remove and replce the rear shocks! Why couldnt you just Thread the chassis renault? like you did on the carrier for the other bolt you used on the rear shocks? Or simpler still made the nut for the hard bolt captive so it wouldnt spin????

I swear they dont consider any maintenence work when designing these things!!!!

Rant over
