Wierd engine cruncing problem.

Ok so, wen changing gear i have recently been getting a grinding sound. The grinding becomes more frequent at higher revs. I can also feel a vibrating through the clutch.

My first thought was "Oh F**k my gear box is guna drop out my arse"

A friend said that the clio has 3 engine supports/mounts 2 at the back and 1 at the front. He thinks the one at the front has come loose/broke or/and is rubbing against something else.

Anyone have any idea or think there could be truth in my friends theory.

p.s I have no trouble getting in or out of gear and have noticed no change in the biting point etc.

Upper engine mount can break & cause nasty vibration when pulling away mainly & throug out the rev range, had it on my track car

Pic is compared to a new one, as you can see the rubber has completely broken free :dead:


Only found out when i removed the mount & it fell apart in my hands lol
