wierd noise on my 182

  MK5 R32
Hi everyone, wonding if anyone can help me, was running low on petrol today so went to fill up,on the way i noticed when in 1st gear releasing the clutch to accelerate and changing to 2nd, there was a wierd noise coming from what i think is the exhaust. its hard to describe it was like the exhaust was rubbing on something vibrating it to make the noise. it was a high pitched noise, then after i filled up no problems whatsoever!!!
anyone got any ideas?

Check the engine mounts.

how?

There four mounts you need to check firstly on the top driver side check the mounts forward. and check for wear.

Second ones you need to take the battery out and check for crack

Third one is the dogbone higly light to be this one its under the car round the back of the engine the bushes wear over time and let the engine move about you need to get under the car and shake the engine see if it hits the rack if it does and sounds like it maybe then need to move the top mount forward (do a search for more info on this) and idealy chnage the dogbone its only 21 bolts and not that explensive new.

Fourth mount is on the gearbox to subframe not realy an issue that.
