It depends on the size tyres you putting on it.

A normal 15 inch alloy on a new clio is a 155 55 15

So will have a diamer of 21.7 inches if my calculation are right.

So the thickness of your tyres is any more than 4.7inches then the car will be higher

4.7 inches is 12cm or 120mm

To find out the thickness of your tyres multiply the first thickness (ie 155 in the case of standard tyres) by the profile divided by 100 (55 in the case of standard tyres)

Here is an example of how to work out the size of standard tyres (just chabge the figure in bold for the ones for your new tyres)

(155 * .55 ) / 25.4 = 3.3

if the figure you come out with is smaller than 4.7 then the car will be lower if the number is bigger than the car will be higer.

to work out how much higher the car will be

17 + (the number you worked out in the equation above) - 21.7 and divide all that by two that will tell you how many inches higher the car will be than normal. Also if the car is higher then the wheel curcomference will be differnet and your speedo will be out so depending upon how much differne the tyres are you may want to have the speedo recalibrated.

Ill write a program to work it out tomorrow at work (it will give us something to do all day)
