Much difference?

I have Infinity 50.1s running off a 40w per channel head unit.

Would a nice little amp make a lot of difference to the noise?

Can you do it without drilling your doors? If yo kept the standard wiring and did it from the headunit would it melt the wires?

I put my Comps in with out removing the door panels or changing the wiring. Just dropped the tweeter wire through the door (sort of).

I would probably amp on existing cables from the head unit as Im lazy these days, should be ok!

If not it wouldnt take an hour to do both sides from scratch I wouldnt have thought!

Drilling would depend on the quality of cable used. I used hifi stuff, van den hul and qed so holes had to be made for wiring to exit.

With hifi, how can a HU give proper amplification for speakers. If you see the size of a proper amp rated at say 60w per channel, none of the PMPO stuff, youd never think that you HU amp can match it.

Your HU may provide a great sound but this will be limited by cabling, amplification and speakers. No good scrimping on any of these. Amp would make speakers sing. Good quality cables would too.
