now ive crashed it will it affect resale values of my car, is repairable and wont cost the earth

Well, probably not to 100% of people.. although, if someone wants an unpainted/uncrashed car, theyll probably be able to spot the paint.

In my experience, 90% of people dont care about paintwork, to the point theyll notice it being resprayed and it put them off. Hehe.

yes is the simple answer.

If there is as much as a hair in the paint work, or a little overspray, then you can tell its been repaired etc. Obviously the buyer wouldnt know if it was a minor bump or a complete front end rebuild etc unless it was obvious, but theyd wanna bargain over it etc.

Correct. But, Ive only met one other person like that apart from me, and thats Mat :). Most people dont seem to be able to spot/care about paint work..

well im really fussy when it comes to cars and even done the whole car check when i bought my cup, so i just really wanted it confirmed,

If its only a little bump, eg just dented the front wing or something its probably worth while taking a photo of it and being honest when you sell it, say it had a small bump, and its been repair, theyll proabably notice it anyway, and then show them the photo to prove it wasnt serious. They will probably appricated your honest and trust you more for it.

good idea will do it as soon as cheers mate

No problem ;)

Just saves scaring people off, as they might fear the damage was worse than it actually was.

If you sell it/trade it in with Renault it will probably end up at an auction rather than the forecourt if its not 100%.

good to show your an honest guy but dont bring it up unless the buyer notices it!

dont want to gGIVE them a reason to knock the price down.

no offence to any maindealer salesman butin my experience they wont notice it.

all depends on the quality of the work done by the bodyshop of course

and? trust me thier computer systems are rubbish

e.g i had my car serviced by a dealer in bristol the service wasnt showing on the records for a dealer in coventry 6 weeks later.

the car was taken in for warranty work by renault birmingham and the work which included paint was never showing on the record either

oh right, well am getting the car reapired through insurance but through thier approved garage otherwise i wont get a courtesy car, i no renault are bad but didnt think this bad

  Ziel Nurburgring

Depends, most tyre kickers probably wont be that thorough to check. If its a reputable company and they do a decent job people probaby wont question/notice it anyway

it would put me off, a friend of mine crashed there mr2 roadster, it needed a new front end, eventually she px it at a bmw dealer and they never even noticed when they checked it, so as long as its not registered as accident damaged then you should be ok.

also advertising the fact you crashed it on her doesnt really help to sell it:(

no dont bring it up unless they do, and i dont think renault will notice it, they just seem to look at milage and the book price.
