Will it be quicker

I have a phase 2 clio 16v on 90k. I love it too bits but it has done a few miles now so as we speak its havin a full service, clutch, Head gasget and the heads being skimmed and polished.

Will it be much quicker after i pay this grand for the work to be done?

Depends on how much and how good the work on the head is.

For all the work above im payin just over a grand. The mechanic said my head will come back all singin and all dancin but im un-sure!

Mate speak to BENR regarding head work!! Very good and he knows his stuff!! I will be getting him to do mine in the very near future!!

Having your head polished wont really make much difference unless you back it up with other modifications like performance cams etc.Also the head work will only work as good as the person who does the work.Have the head polished and ported by a well known renault specialist with a good reputation.

I doubt it will be much quicker and in my experience (having owned a tuned 16V) even what we consider a "tuned" car wont be noticeably quicker. If its your bag, then a de-cat and exhaust system make the 16V sound absolutely rally-authentic.
