Will these tyres be buggered?

Car  2004 ph2 172
Question.

My old Mk1 was sat on A set of shoddy kuhmo 195-50/15's for a couple of years in the dark. They were flat with the weight of the car on them for probably a year? They've got a lot of meat left on them.

Will they be completely buggered, or Id I keep them over-pressured for a year or so might they be usable by 2013? :D

Cheers,

/Nick

Lol for the sake of circa £130 for a full set of decent tyres at that size then why risk it??

check the manufacture date on the side - think they have a life of max 5 years IIRC....give it a google if you are unsure what to look for (from memory its the year and week number manufactured that is printed on the sidewall)

I should clarify: The thing that worries me is the squished profile that the tyres now have due to being sat flat for a long time. Will it be noticeable in the balance of the wheel once re-inflated?

I'll be very suprised if the sidewalls aren't knackered and cracked. The rubber also goes hard.

I honestly wouldn't even consider using tyres that have been sat for a year.

Right.. their fate is sealed then. They go to my mate who has a very silly Volvo 242 :) He goes though tyres at a mental pace.
