Has anyone fitted these? Or know if they are worth while?

Depends if you want them for looks or performance. The pic isn't very good but they look like they're the same Brembo calipers from the Peugeot 406 V6 which a lot of people have fitted over the years, you'll find that the pedal travel will increase with them unless you change to a different master cylinder.

If you're after a genuine upgrade in performance, the best route to go down is converting to the setup from the 172, have a look through this thread, it has details of the conversion in there plus lots of people have done it too https://cliosport.net/threads/mk1-f...chassis-rebuild.364502/page-132#post-11242040

It's a better route to go down because there's a lot of mega high quality performance pads available these days that outperform a lot of the 4 pots unless you're going for monster size discs etc

Brilliant, thanks for help as always. It’s not something I’ll be doing any time soon but my evenings are now filled with clios and clio parts hunting🤣

So my idea to 3D print the rear right bump strip was because the one I found in the boot was all plastic. After looking at the ones on the car, I realised they have a rubber coating so no chance of recreating them.

After a bit of a random email, I got in touch with a lovely bloke who said he has a full set. They are from a phase 1 16v so have the light grey insert but that’s easily rectified. I had to re-mortgage my house and buy all four but it’s fair enough as they seem pretty hard to come by.

Does Anyone know if this is the correct radio for a phase 1?

Latest bits came this week:

.Heat shield which I plan to refurb or use to make a new one from carbon Kevlar

.Engine mount cover

.Neg battery terminal

.Radio cover

still saving for more body panels but as things come up for sale I need to grab them. Did miss out on the williams subframe this week though.

sorry it’s been a bit quiet on here, I’ve been trying to finish one of the Corollas ready for sale.

I have been keeping my eye out for parts though and have even re-joined Facebook for FBMP. Last night this paid off, big time.

travelled to a great lad initially for a dash but ended up with:

Dash top
Williams bonnet
Bonnet ducting
Rear wiper arm
Side lights
Brand new spare wheel cage

The prices were more than fair and he even let me take his phase 1 RSI out for a spin.

His RSI is immaculate and drives fantastically. There’s no way it’s running the stock 110bhp as it felt v nippy. Excited to feel what a williams is like having never driven one.

I also got hold of some phase 1 rubber mats. Only the fronts but I don’t plan to put anyone in the back so I’m chuffed to bits really

It might be standard power. They weigh less than a shoe and are made of tinfoil so I always think pretty much any mk1 other than a 1.2 feels reasonably nippy. A mate has a valver which really isn’t fast, but when you’re in it, it feels genuinely quick 🤷‍♂️

the more I hunt for parts the more I notice little things like the fact my car has phase 2 fog lights so I presume the bumper has been changed at some point.

Anyway I managed to win these on eBay and they arrived today, great condition and a fair price.

Another curious thing I’ve found is the door cards have speaker holes which appear to be factory cut. So I think these have been changed too.

So far I’ve sourced one speaker cover but am on the hunt for another. I don’t mind having speakers in the doors and maybe I can find some originals in the future.

Those are ph2 speaker covers & the Williams 1's don't have speakers in the doors originally. I think I might have a couple of covers spare, I'll have a look for you

The fog lights are the same on both ph1 & ph2, it's just the outside mounting bits that are different and you can easily swap them over so probably worth keeping the others as spares

This is how original W1 doorcards look

Looking forward to seeing how you get on with this! Great work so far on the part hunting. Definitely the hardest thing with old 90s cars, but also quite fun

Yeah that’s what I was saying, I’m sure they’ve been changed at some point t but I quite like the idea of having front speakers- obviously maintaining a factory look.

Thats v kind of you mate thanks, I just need one. I’ll PM now

Thanks v much. I’m finding the parts hunting isn’t too bad really, just money ha ha. I do need some solid doors but I’m in talks for a pair. Once I’ve got the parts ill need to save up for ages for all the fabrication and body work

A little bday present from my wife. You can order the print from evo and then get it framed

Well I’ve got some sad news. The clio is going up for sale.

After years of asking the current owner of my old Celica gt4 if he would sell it back to me he said no. So that gave me the go ahead to buy the clio. I’ve now been offered the Celica back and after talking with my wife there’s no way I can have both.

If you know of anyone that may be interested let me know. I’m only asking what the car owes me. The spares will be available on top of that for the price I paid. So I’m not looking to profit at all.

It’ll be listed on Facebook marketplace tomorrow
