Williams geek please.

Car  Clio Williams 1 112
Hi all

I,ve got a willy 1 (112) and need a few questions answering.

Was the spare wheel a gold speedline?
What colour is the original headliner and was it different to any other mk1?

Cheers
Andy

iirc the spare was not a gold speedline it was a steel wheel but looked similar to the speedline. as for the headlining it shared the same bland grey coloured one as the lower spec clios

The spare wheel is a steel one which is kind of similar to the alloys as for the headlining it's the same colour of grey as the dash.

Williams spare wheel is steel, looks like the Valver steelie but it's 7" wide and black. Headliner is light grey.

Is it actually a williams though? The number on the ID plate under the bonnet will reveal the truth

It is a williams! the number I.D matches up. If you see the sunroof its not a renault one, It is infact an after market jobby fitted around the time it was new. (I knew the last owner btw. P.S My ph1 in the pics too :D)

Edit: Notice in the 2nd pic how far back the sunroof sits.

Even if the DVAL says its a 2.0 there enough hybrids out there.

I aint gotta clue about Williams Edde , just seems weird why its a 2 litre but was Maroon and being banded about as a Williams . Maybe even the current owner doesn't have a clue ?? Maybe it is just a hybrid ?

Everything checked out as a Williams when previous owner bought it. Sunroof is a webasto (sp) and sits much further back than say a valves etc. It has been lowerd though in that pic don't think it had standard suspension (not sure if springs and shocks or just springs.)

But that still doesn't explain why it's maroon...?

This isn't nasty CS :p I'm sure everyone commenting in this thread does want it to turn out to be a Williams for the sake of the owner.

It is a genuine williams, i remember when Tommy bought it as i called him an idiot for buying a williams with a sunroof.
In regards to the 'enquiry' thing, dvla made so many **** ups on the williams registrations its unbelievable, most of the williams 1's are registered as 5 doors.

I hope the new owner didnt pay to much for the williams with the sunroof.

Would love a Williams.

I know of a Williams 2 with one owner from new unfortunetly rotting away in a garage but he was wanting too much £ as it is certainly a project, but a good one.

1 of mine is a 5dr, the other a 3 dr. both 1st registered on same day, 74 chassis no.s apart, but 108 no.s diff on the plaque.....go figure.

The reason this car is the way looks is because it has been repaired by infinicar in the past. Using some valver parts, hence the grey bump strips and probably the valver track.

So that'll be the first thing I'd be doing then, new front track and suspension all round
