Williams Shocks

I want to replace the shocks and springs on my Williams 2 but dont know whether to replace them with standard renault ones or uprated ones, has anybody put uprated kit on and if so how big a difference is there?

Im very happy with my Gaz coilovers, cost the same as standard iirc and are fully adjustable. Depends on whether you are a purist and/or are selling the car soon as stnd williams will always fetch the highest prices.

i kinda agree with this , imo the standard suspension is spot on and have no problems with it, but im sure having coilovers would be brilliant too, but it depends wat type of roads u drive on alot, most of wat i go on are country and quiet bumpy/pot holes! so imo i dont need coilovers , im just gonna buy new standard shockers for it

Going slightly off topic, the Williams relies on the full travel in its suspension to keep its wheels on the road as much as possible and hence give it its abilities over twisty and poorly surfaced country roads - so its best not to lower it IMO. Thats why Im not keen on lowering mine as although it will grip better on smooth roads, itll skip around on the B-roads I bought the Williams to drive on. My last two Clios were lowered and Id not do it again.

thats why they have 185/55/15 tyres as standard to help take the shock a bit more then a 195/45/15 would do, b-road blaster
