Williams 3s imported 308 - I know of 5 broken....so less than 300 Id bet survive.

Williams 1s imported 400ish - again I know of 4 broke in the year ive owned mine....And one which was very suspicious. All bar 1 seam to be high numbered williams 1s in the 300+s.

Williams 2s imported 1200 - I know of 3 thats been stripped.

I doubt we will never find out how many are left, unless the DLVA could tell us ????
Ive kept a record of williams 3s which are dead as they have come up. Might have to keep my eye out for ones and twos aswell.

lol

must admit tho......thort there were 400 willy 1s in rhd
390 was the figure from Renault UK, which were released in the UK.

The problem lies in that a few more I guess, got imported back from Europe.. they had thousands I think.

Thats what ive been told anyways.
I just know 308 williams 3 were registered in this country.
Ive seen williams 1s numbered well into the 420s before on autotrader...so your probally right Daz.

Suprised they only imported 400 odd williams 2s aswell.
Ill memorise the total numbers produced guys...;)

But, if yer on about how many Williams are still around, theres thousands.. cus in Europe.. they had loads.. so after the 390 1s.. anything higher is an import.. and dont count.

I went to look at #425 I think it was..

yeah but is that 400 on sale over here or 400 rhd?
RHD I guess.. I saw 425 and it was very right hand drive.. hehe.

Happens all the time, cant help it. ;)

They made 482 Williams 2s for sale in this country.. dunno how many were imported, no way of telling.. but imports dont count.. heh.

Who gives a f**k? Im sure this question comes up every month, we get the same half assed answers, if anybody really cared they would contact Renault or the DVLA, but as far as I know they havent so nobody knows for sure.

By the way in answer to your question eves I reckon there are very few left, like someone said before, I have never seen another Williams on my travels except at meets etc so I have the opinion they are rare, but at the end of the day its a car so does it really matter if its rare or not? :p

Cheers

true i was interested the end of the day that why i put the post up!!!!!

OK I agree people are interested, but obviously not enough or we would have definate numbers?

Im not sure about having to pay for the info, surely a very large enthusiasts club such as Cliosport would get a detalied reply from Renault if somebody cares enough to ask, after all its a Clio, and it not like its highly sensitive material.

I myself find no interest in knowing how many were made to be honest, comparing production numbers to me is like saying my extended penis is bigger/better than yours, because I have number 015 and your is only 035, so mine obviously must be better.

All I am trying to get across regarding production numbers is why dont we find out a final definate number if people want to know, Im sure Jeremy could find out this info with very little bother, might stop this question appearing every week ;)

Anyway Ill let you lot get back to the thread topic.

Cheers

Well actually you asked about how many are left, not produced, think you might struggle to find out how many are left, might be easier to find out how were produced though.

Actually, the numbers i have quoted are from a letter on Renault headed paper dated 11th May 1999 because somebody DID give a f**k and DID contact Renault!
Big thanks to Ian Boswell, last owner of my Willy2!

Not necessarily!
Nowhere does it state that the first 390 produced/numbered were for the UK market.
We all know 0001 is LHD, and so are many more i presume.

Well done that man, why didnt you say they were Renault figures, kind of gives the impression it was just your opinion or a magazine figure, ah well that settles it then Mat is the winner.

Think he wrote to Renault about everything!

Got one about the numbering of Williams 2s (Not any), one about the paint code for the Williams wheel (None available) and one from the DVLA about changing the description on the V5!

Ah I thought somebody had managed to get the paint code for the wheels, Northy you reading this? Anyway spoke to my mate who works at Akzo who makes the paint for the wheels, and if I get him the code he can get me some very cheap Willy wheel paint, if its avaliable, so Northy PM me the paint code you have.
