Winding them down..

  TTRS & V50
Right im still not happy with the height of my car. I had my coilies fitted and left the front fairly high while winding the back all the way down. I didnt hear any scrubbing so when i went to jamsport to get them set up i got them to wind the front down another 20mm i think. And i still dont get any scrubbing what so ever and i have two brand new proxies on the front and still nothing.

If i wound the front down another 10mm will i need it setting up all over again ? cause i cant see 10mm to make that much of difference, excect to looks.

essentially yes but you could see how it went

I wound my collies up and down all day long on my last car and it didnt make a huge difference until I really wound them down,

for peace of mind get them to the right height for a day or 2 to be sure then get it setup again

Current got -1.75 camber on the front, so if i went down some more, it will possibly go to -2 ?

I just cant conprehend paying 150 to set them up again, just cause im going down another 10mm, seems silly. and kind of pointless having coilovers.

Surely if its all set up, and i lower each side 10mm then all settings will be the same cause they have both lowered the same.

Android take off the wheel, and theres two adjuster rings, wind the bottom one down and measure from the top adjuster to the bottom one, then wind the top one down to lock, now do the other side with the same amount as you have just measured.

Surely if you lower it then it shouldn't affect the camber that much! Im sure it would only be the fine tuning thats put out of place? Do you have the Vmaxx coilovers Slammed172? If so there shouldnt be too much affected as they are non-adjustable dampening.

Yes i have the v-maxx's. I dont want to ruin any of the setting up, cause its drives like a dream, just doesnt look quite right.

Here are two quick pics from how it stands today, bearing in mind the ground is far from flat, but it the same concept on perfectly flat ground, you can clearly see the front is higher.

They are v-maxx's as stated. They state 60 back 70 front i think, however the back is fully down, closer to 65mm, and front i have no idea but can go at least 120 as they have a threaded strut all the down to the hub bolts.

Im a slammed who-re sadly. So definally want to lower the front more, i just want someone to tell me i dont have to spend 150quid on setting up to take the front down literally a touch.

cant imagine it changing much tbh. may need tracking redone at most but thats it i would imagine. think about dropping your car on springs. hardly anyone gets a full geo after a 40mm drop on springs since the difference isnt noticable so i think a 10mm drop wont change much but thats just my opinion.

That's definitely nose down already. look at the angle of the sill. Remember the front arches are bigger because of the wheels having to turn ;) A good example, I fitted bilsteins to a ph1, then checked the toe. it was toeing out a lot and the steering was far too light, with no feeling

with a 10mm drop, the furthur you drop it from where it is now, the more toe out you will get. You'll see gradually more camber too. You can get the setup very good without a full alignment as long as you have a flat floor and some gauges. We dont offer it commercially, but can do a basic setup when we fit suspension.
