Window regulator problem

Hie everyone. I ordered a second hand drivers side window regulator and it arrived today. Went to fit it and although everything looked the same, the 2 brackets that bolt to my car were in different places.

In my infinite wisdom I decided to remove everything from the metal frame and transfer it to the frame that came from my car.

However, I am struggling to get the cable to fit into its place.

Any ideas on what I can do?

File down the metal chunk at the end of the cable so it pops in the yellow plastic hole (looks too big?),then plastic weld / araldite over so it doesnt pop out again?

Sorry mate, I should have explained the photo better. It does fit, but that is the part I am trying to make reach.

Think I might have sorted it now though, should just be able to plug it all back in, an loosen a bit of the cable.

Put it back together how it was before with the metal frame that came with it?

Hope you get it sorted. I had to replace mine but it was a simple job imho
