windows hanging once logged in

Got a massive problem with one of my laptop, as soon as I log into it it just hangs. unable to click on anything. I've downloaded hijackthis to try and get rid of some stuff but no joy. When I log in under safe mode windows doesnt hang.

What can i do to resolves this problem. There must be a process running or virus? which is casuing this problem. any ideas guys.

try msconfig in the run command in safe mode, turn off all the start up progs?

could be sommet uve recently installed or updated, msconfig see wats in start up and disable stuff untill u find wich it is
