Windscreen replacement on insurance

Lee

Car  BMW M2C
Does anyone know how that works? Does it effect your NCB, as I assume it's a claim with a £50 xs in my case?

It usually doesn't affect your NCB.

You don't even need to ring your insurance company!

On your insurance docs, there will be a nominated name/number to ring... you ring it, pay 50 quid... and that's it.

Have you poured hot water on your window this morning? ;)

Jobs a goodun, just realised I've got my policy docs in my desk draw.:o

£50 and it doesn't effect my NCB.

Lee...Had crack on the cup which was fixed over weekend. Is the crack over the size of a 5p piece? If it isn't then it can be filled with silicone. If it is filled with silicone, it will cost nothing; if it is windscreen replacement (crack is too large or deep...) then you pay your excess but shouldn't affect NCB or excess.

Call the insurance windscreen number...they'll have one.

Hope that helps.
Donny

Cheers mate.

It started as a chip on the far right, it's now a crack about 4 inches long going from the outer edge into the screen. It's not even my sodding car, it's courtesy car but you having spoken to the garage it's my responsibility while in my possession. If I return it and they decide it needs replacing I'll have to pay full whack, so figured I'd get it done on insurance.

Had me worried, thought you'd been tailgating someone in the trophy!!! At least if its on the company insurance, and its not gonna affect your insurance then you are fine...if £50 out of pocket! I panicked thinking that a small chip on windscreen was gonna make me lose my NCB (stupid, but you know these insurance companies!!!

It's on my insurance, I've had to cover the car fully comp.

Any excuse to f**k you over when it comes to insurance.:dapprove:

I'm going for the record...

So far, I've got a 10 inch crack... waiting to see if it'll go across the whole window.

I take it you've got a couple of years until MOT then? Did that start off as a small crack and escalate, or was that huge from the start?
