wire colours / cigarette lighter help

I want to wire in dash lights to my cigarette lighter, but im not sure which wire on the socet is live and which is earth, there is one thick yellow wire, one thin blue wire and a thin black wire, help me out please ?

Thick yellow wire should be constant live, blue should be ignition, black is earth

it didnt work when i tried it mate , tried it in paralell and got nothing, i tried a couple of LED's and nothing

Did the LED's have any resistors on them? If not you may have blown them, Plus check the polarity is correct. All else fails get a multi-meter sure that would point in the right way
