Wireless extenders...? Talk to me!

Hello all.

So, is this as simple as it sounds? At a mates house the walls are so thick and the house big that upstairs has no reception at all. They're on virgin cable which runs into the living room downstairs. That's the only router point I think.

So is it as easy as it sounds? Just plug an extender in and off you go? If so which one to buy?

I've got a netgear one. Quite easy to set up. You have to access the extenders set up page via wifi to tell it what network to extend and set up security etc. Then you are good to go. The range of it isn't as good as my own router, but it's better than my BT router.

Very easy to set up in repeater mode and unlike some they genuinely extend the network, so no need to set up multiple profiles on each device.
